Kara Halpern

Counsel

Kara Halpern represents clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters. Ms. Halpern has extensive experience in commercial litigation, products liability law, employment law, cyber-security, construction law, and general liability matters. Her vast litigation experience enables her to effectively develop litigation strategies and to interface with and prepare witnesses and experts. This ensures that the best and most successful approaches are pursued in every case. In addition to being a skilled litigator, she is an effective liaison to the firm’s client base, corporate personnel and other representatives developing procedures and strategies to meet their particular legal goals and objectives.

Ms. Halpern launched her legal career at an Am Law 100 law firm developing a foundation in Complex Commercial Litigation before branching off to start her own law firm and cyber security consulting firm. As Ms. Halpern’s practice grew, she joined a boutique litigation firm, where she gained invaluable experience in e-discovery and managing large complex commercial and trade secret litigation. Most notably, she represented DSM Dyneema LLC in case alleging that Honeywell misappropriated trade secrets for ballistic materials in military combat helmets. DSM Dyneema LLC v. Thagard, et al (NC).

Ms. Halpern employs a collaborative approach to disputes and potential litigation based upon the goals of her clients. Whether through negotiation or adversarial proceedings, she is skilled at accomplishing her clients’ objectives and at developing potential strategies that to meet those ends. Her approach enables her to deliver superior advocacy, results and client satisfaction.

Ms. Halpern received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2010, from Hofstra University School of Law, where she was an Associate Editor of the Hofstra Law Review. She received her B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, in 2007 from the University of Rhode Island. She is licensed to practice law in New York as well as the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
